South Peak Freycinet Peninsula
Route Summary A rough walk with scrubby sections and steep rock slabs
This route is to the south peak overlooking Point Geographe.
From the eastern end of Bryans Beach there is no pad and it is necessary to work a way through the casuarinas and other bushes towards the high point between Bryans and Passage Beach. From the high point it is best to take a slightly circuitous downhill route a bit to the east before veering back to meet the start of the beach. At the southern end of the beach the easiest course is along the coastal fringe for about 300 or so metres then turn inland and follow a rising ridge to the summit area. This also avoids the bare steep rock faces on the way.
From Cooks to South Peak is about 13.5 k return and takes a bit over 3 hours each way
